Came along for a shop. Parking extremely good value. Fair selection of stalls, especially groceries/chocolates etc, brilliant fruit and veg and a great vinyl record stall. Very knowledgeable owner ! Tasty burgers to be had too. The amount of stall holders fluctuates depending on day but well worth a visit.
Like most markets it is only a shadow of it's former site .The sweet part is still fantastic. But most of the stalls have gone .It had a great cafe . Their home made meals were excellent.
Unfortunately this market is dying a slow death, 20 years ago it was a vibrant small town market. Today it is steadily dying out. There are barely half a dozen stalls open and I wouldn't recommend most of those that are. The guy selling vinyl and DVDs is a bonus, as is Luke and his Mum Trisha selling cakes, crisps and sweets at incredible prices is the other. Ian & Joanne selling coffees, burgers and hot sandwiches do a great job and it's a proper little gem.
A very pleasant market, stall holders very pleasant. Due to the pandemic, not all of the stalls were on the site. I am looking forward to going again it has more stalls. Lovely fresh fruit and vegetables, so fresh. I recommend taking a visit the market.
A shell of its former self with over half of the stalls unused. Lacks the hustle and bustle of a busy market. Most of the stall holders don't look interested and some of their stalls look pitiful. There are a few exceptions of course, the sweet stall fresh bread and the hardware stalls are all worthy of bigger and better things. Sadly we've lost the cafe and Sues stitches in recent months and I fear more to come. Sign of the times I suppose.
