One of the friendliest pubs I've ever visited. Great lines of good beer. Friendly locals as well as very welcoming staff. The free Yorkshire Tapas was a great surprise and better than a roast in many pubs. The vast array of toiletries was an unexpected pleasure too. Thanks Emma and team for looking after us so well. If you are in the area it's well worth a visit.
Loved it land lady isva legend and undergroove play there what more do ya want xxx
Landlord and Landlady always have a warm welcome for everyone.
This is a pub in Yorkshire. I was passing on my way to a gig. Ahead of schedule so we nipped in for a pint. Oh, you haven't got any beer? [Hand pull, real ale] The look of pity from the lovely patient barlady (just doing her job efficiently) - but we have Madri, Coors, Bud Lite, Tetley smooth keg. Pause. As I said. You haven't got any beer. Some great real ale pubs in Yorkshire. This isn't one of em. Sign of the times. Dumbing down of society. Lack of beer ambition. Tasteless, vacuous fizz. I'll drive 50 miles out of my way for a pint of Theakston's Old Peculier at the Griffin in North Warwickshire. Madri is OK for cleaning paint brushes. But lots of people were there drinking Madri enjoying the sunshine. Which is great. Each to their own. I need a pub with actual beer please. Thanks for the reply Emma: Old Peculier is the dark real ale spelling, peculiar is the spelling for a pub in Yorkshire that doesn't have one single hand pulled Best Bitter. Luckily still plenty of pubs that do.
The best pub we have ever been to. Visited on a Sunday greeted in the garden by a fantastic live singer, "Yorkshire tapas" was there for you just to "help thi sen" to, and the locals are very welcoming. Service was perfect, will definitely return.
