The New Hobbit

my church youth group rented this for a three-day outing and it was definitely worth it. we booked quite a large area as there were a lot of us. there was a mini cinema, pool table, bar and a nice large room for activities and games. the rooms were amazing, especially the suite. the view was fantastic and i’d definitely recommend

A little gem. A former hotel thus is now a self service/online facility which is ideal for visiting the area. Room was spotless and very comfortably furnished. Bathroom was very modern and spacious with lovely little touches throughout. Great value with a good sized car park and a small outdoor picnic space with stunning views of the dales.

What a lovely view of the Calder Valley and the room and bathroom were very clean plus there was a fridge which many places don't have but....... that's it. The bar and restaurant are out of bounds so bring some food. It doesn't make it any easier when there is nothing else around for miles so I found myself feeling a bit like a prisoner. The Fleece in is a few miles away and much better. The reason why I booked The New Hobbit was because the rooms at The Fleece were booked. I won't be staying at The New Hobbit again. Sorry.

Beautiful place to stay with fantastic facilities! Perfect for a big group. The hot tub and bar are lovely features, everything was excellent.lovely setting and great view

Lovely little place with plenty of rooms of a great standard. The staff are very welcoming and responsive and will always do everything they can to help, should you need anything. It is situated at a height and the roads leading to it are narrow and steep, to most people that is not an issue but my poor little, old car did struggle to get up the hills. The views are more than worth it though, overlooking the beautiful countryside and on a clear night, with stars visible it's a beautiful and very relaxing location.
