Jump in a time machine as you enter this absolute gem in a mysterious, hidden valley! Proper beer, proper furniture, proper people, poignant energy, real values... And somehow, it's also an amazing music venue! Intimate without ever feeling claustrophobic, the attention to detail is meticulous with superb sound and perfectly balanced lighting, this traditional pub transforms into a gig spotlight while retaining the pub feel... Alleviate the anxieties of life when you slip into the rare moment of true escapism...
The Puzzle is like your favourite pair of jeans: comfortable, familiar, feels so good you keep returning to it. With the live music often being pay-as-you-feel, it's a brilliant spot for discovering new / local artists. Super friendly atmosphere, great selection of beers, and stages both indoors and out. Such a gem of a venue.
Went to a gig, Dead Belgian. Great band, the venue is small, intimate is probably what they say. Beer was outstanding at good prices. Friendly staff, bohemian good natured audience.
Brilliant community pub this with great live music on regularly, great selection of cask/keg ales and ciders rotated frequently and at great prices, staff are amazing and make you feel welcome, massive beer garden that is partially covered so the weather can do what it wants, a must if you are in the area, keep up the great work guysπ»π»ππ»ππ»β€οΈ
Positives; when quiet a friendly pub, loved the seasonal mulled ale, lovely heritage. BUT there is no point putting on talented performers who are going to have to battle against the noise and disrespect from an overcrowded and very drunk bar. I was shocked to see a man being carried into the bar by two companions to be carried out again later. People were literally falling over, one person spilt their drink over a member of the audience. I couldn't access the toilet because of a lady with a dog who subsequently fell over leaving the poor thing (dog) to wander around alone. To continue to serve alcohol to people so far over their limit is irresponsible to say the least. To book performers into this space is putting them under unfair pressure and is also irresponsible.
