Popped in at 7 pm when the shop looked to be closing, but the two staff fried two fish in short order and supplied a generous large portion of chips. Can't fault the quality of ingredients or service one bit. All round best fish and chips in the Upper Valley by far, keep up the good work!

Ripped off by rude member of staff. Bought fish, chips and a tea cake which should have been £9.30. As I wasn’t overly hungry I said I only needed a small chips. I was charged £9.60. (Small chips are 50p cheaper than normal chips by the way). I queried the amount and the rude woman said the price was more because I’d had a small chips and so she had to charge for them separately. If she had charged me for fish and chips it’s cheaper but I asked for small chips which makes it dearer! Madness! She was not for changing even though she knew she was ripping me off. I’ve used this shop for over 30 years, I won’t be back so enjoy the extra pennies you took off me.

Got fish and chips with curry sauce and for the price of the fish it wasn't fresh like they say it was and was so thin it was like there was no fish in it . The batter was hard and burnt. Didn't taste nice. Complained about but all they could say is they don't know why it was like that . Won't be going there again.

Called in for Sunday fish n Chips on way home from a visit to peace hall Halifax. Managed to get parked right outside their door which was a bonus. Got fish n chips for the two of us. As there is a wait for freshly cooked fish I waited in the car. The young girl brought our meals out to the car, which I thought was a nice touch. The meal was cooked well - especially the fish, there was plenty, and all cooked in dripping. It certainly hit the spot for us as it was just what we wanted and expected. Well done Friendly Fisheries, if we’re passing again we would pop in.

Came from out of town and was absolutely disappointed. Girls on the counter had horrible attitude, the fish was dry, the chips were overcook NO amount of salt and vinegar could rescue that. Don't waste your money people better off going up the road to Lidl and getting a frozen fish. Would not recommend in a million years.
