Had a fabulous weekend in February at The Wagon Shed celebrating my daughter’s 80th and mum’s 50th. Knowing it was a special celebration the owner decorated with balloons and bottle of Prosecco. Stunning property decorated to a very high standard. Great location to get to Ripon and Hebden Bridge and surrounding countryside also easy access to motorways. The rear outside decking area is stunning. Despite being on main road the cottage was quiet with very little road noise. Beds were so comfy, the downstairs lounge, kitchen dining area was so sociable and comfy. Lots of space to cook and entertain. We loved it!
Myself and a party of friends and toddlers enjoyed our stay at the Waggon Shed. The place felt instantly relaxing as the interior feels fresh, clean and well thought through. Myself and my daughter had a room at the front and had a blissful nights sleep, if all felt very plush. When we visited, the garden wasn’t complete but we were given an overview of the plans and when complete I’d love to stay there in the summer and eat out in terraced garden. Great location for mooching in Hebden. Really great ammenities. Thank you
booked The Wagon Shed for a four-night stay in April 2025, expecting a peaceful and relaxing break based on the property’s website description. Unfortunately, the reality was very different, and we ended up leaving after just one night. The main issue is the location. The property is directly adjacent to the A58 — a very busy main road with constant traffic, including lorries, buses, and farm vehicles. This is not disclosed anywhere on the website. The photos are carefully taken to show only the rear of the property, giving the impression of a quiet countryside setting. In truth, the noise from the road was relentless, both day and night, and made it impossible to relax or sleep. Even earplugs and staying in a rear bedroom didn’t help. There is also a bus stop directly outside the property, and local traffic, conversations, and door-slamming added to the disturbance. The website’s wording — promising tranquillity and a calming retreat — did not match the experience. Another disappointment was the parking. The website shows a generous gravelled area, but this had been reduced in size and moved under a large tree. This left barely enough room to park, and the car was heavily soiled by bird droppings overnight due to birds roosting above. Cleaning it before we could head out was an unwelcome and stressful start to the day. We left early and contacted the owner, who initially seemed understanding and agreed to a partial refund. However, despite follow-up messages, no refund was issued and communication ceased. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience. If you're looking for peace and quiet, I would not recommend The Wagon Shed. It may suit travellers who don’t mind constant road noise, but it was entirely misrepresented in our view.
Outstanding property which has clearly been newly renovated to a high level. Impeccably clean, new appliances with everything you could possibly need. Comfy beds, pillows, open plan living area and close to Piece Hall in Halifax. Owner couldn’t have been more helpful. If you are thinking of staying at this property, you won’t be disappointed - do it!!
Upside down style beautifully renovated house, Bedrooms all very comfortable and very impressive living space/ kitchen with large tv on the wall. There was plenty of space for 6 of us., we loved the furnishings and plants- very cool decor.
