I've known this area for years but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they've got a fancy new car park alongside the canal at the bottom of Tuel Lane. Calderdale Council strikes again of course, tarmac, paving and a border full of lovely flowers but is there any bins ?? Of course not, why on earth would Calderdale have bins when it's far easier to not bother and let's help destroy the Planet just a bit more quickly ?? Because that shower couldn't organise the proverbial in a brewery that's why. Absolutely useless ๐ ๐ ๐ช
Good stroll... before the dogs came. Quiet and peaceful area during midday. Canal by the side means a tranquil walk area..8Probably will ve much busier after office hours with the bars etc.
I love a dog walk around the wharf. Lovely place for chats, coffee, beer and history. The sign with the detailed history is in the corner of the car park. Stunning in all weathers
Pleasant walk, meet pleasant people walking their dogs. Stop for food and drink along your route. (Hidden Cafe). Enjoy the wildlife, ducks, Snow geese. Volunteers work hard to keep it free of litter.
Kayak round trip from Sowerby Bridge Wharf to Salter Hebble locks. Used the slipway at the far end of the wharf into the canal for ease of access. There are other low points around wharf to use if the canal boats are not moored there. Cafes and refreshments are a short walk away.
