This was a great end to a wonderful 3 days in Scarborough. Our group of 4 stayed at The Crown Spa on The Esplanade and after checking out we were delighted to see the Spa Cliff Lift back in operation. It was just £2.50 for the return trip. The leaflet had some fascinating facts about the history including the 1945-46 season when 1.2 million people travelled in the lift.

Such a cool way to get down to the beach and up again from the South Bay. Tickets are affordable too. The ride is about 35 seconds one way but enjoyable with spectacular views. If you struggle with walking, you might want to consider using this lift. The attendants are jovial and really friendly with good sense of humour. The history behind these is ingenious. Good old great British engineering.

We spent a lot of time walking up and down, so at the end of a very busy day we treated ourselves to a go on the Cliff Lift - we piled in, no waiting around, and up we went. Much quicker, a lot less tired and some wonderful views! The lift is £1.50 for a single fare and £2.50 for a return, and they didn't seem to mind if you was getting on with all your beach trolleys etc.

Lovely museum with 6 main rides in use for you to enjoy. Although note some information that's not on the website the rides Run in order every hour and are £1 each ride (£2 per car on the dogmas) this is not included in the entry fee. This is CASH only however cashback is available when you pay for the entry (card is accepted for this). You can also pay a bag of 10 old Pennies for £1 (cash only) to play in the penny arcade with working machines still. Was quite when I went so did Everything in a few hours.
