Excellent day out at the National bird of prey centre great day with our grandson.warm welcome as we arrived.nice little shop with some great gifts.pleasant walk around the staff were first class .nice cuppa tea and cake.grandson was overjoyed as all food was edible for him as he has a peanut allergy. Great display with the birds . Then more tea. Fantastic value for money.
Whilst the house is not accessible as it's a private residence, the large terraced gardens whilst not containing borders/flowers, are well kept and have some good views of the surrounding area from the pavilions/viewpoints.
MAG yorkshire bike rally, farmyard bash. 37 year for farmyard, 1st time for me, great atmosphere, lovely people. I'm there for the 38th, enough said
Gardens are quite well kept and lawn looks freshly cut and neat, the gardens had a conservatory with nice fountains in and a couple of view points but these are gardens that do not have a lot of planting or flowers therefore if you prefer colour and various planting styles it may be worthy visiting Helmsley walled garden instead which is nearby. We found we could only spend about an hour leisurely wandering round. However the parkland looks much bigger and ideal for dog walks. There is the birds of prey on site too for an extra charge however if you were to visit both it could make for a great afternoon out.
Steam Rally weekend was the reason for our visit. We had a lovely time. Planning to visit the bird centre nearby next time.
