This used to be our favourite place in this village that we have lived in for 38 years. However due to the dangerous pollution from the new houses nearby killing small animals such as dogs it has ruined our visits to it. I cannot understand why this has not been resolved over the last two years and the poisoned stream cleaned up.
Kell Gate Green is a perfect place for familys, dog walkers and those just wanting to enjoy a nice walk. A small beck and a couple of benches make it ideal for those wanting to have a picnic or those who would just like to sit and enjoy the nature.
Excellent grass, nice earthy taste. The mole hills kept tripping me and my pig but we got there in the end. Only fell in the beck once, but got out with the help of my pig. : )
