We used the function room for a birthday party with live music and karaoke. It is perfect for around 40 people. Lovely venue and the staff were awesome and so accommodating. Manager Alan was such a top guy and couldn't do enough for us. Brilliant venue for all manner of events. Thank you!
First time my husband and I called in for a quick pint to the Queens Head. We will definitely be calling again when we’re up that neck of the woods. I haven’t rated food as we did not eat. I don’t think they were serving food the time we visited. We will definitely want to try their Sunday lunch if they cook one.
I visited The Queens Head in Stokesley with a friend and unfortunately had a very disappointing and upsetting experience. We entered politely with the intention of buying a drink, however my friend asked if he could briefly plug his phone in for 30 seconds so he could use his card to pay. Before we had the chance to do so, we were repeatedly sworn at and told to “get out” by the older man behind the bar wearing glasses. Despite us calmly explaining that we were going to purchase drinks and only needed a few seconds to charge the phone, he continued to speak to us extremely rudely. To be clear — we completely understand staff being unhappy if we were being rude or simply using the premises for electricity. However, that wasn’t the case at all. My friend politely asked to use the plug, placed his phone in it for barely a few seconds beside our table, and we were just about to sit down and order when this occurred. What concerned us most was when the man behind the bar proceeded to threaten to “knock out” my friend if he didn’t immediately leave or buy a drink — even though we had already confirmed we were intending to purchase one. His body language became aggressive, flaring his eyes and squaring up, making the situation genuinely hostile. We remained polite throughout, but were shocked at how unprofessional and disrespectful the response was to such a reasonable request. We left shortly after being repeatedly told to leave and will most definitely not be returning. I would strongly advise anyone visiting Stokesley to avoid this pub based on the unacceptable behaviour and attitude we experienced on this occasion. For clarity — this review is specifically in reference to the older man behind the bar wearing glasses, as we did not encounter any of the other staff and cannot speak to their professionalism or customer manner; I sincerely hope they do not share the same approach. It’s a real shame Google only allows me to leave a one-star rating, because given the customer service we received, this establishment doesn’t even deserve that.
What a friendly atmosphere for a pub. First time in and it was so welcoming it was wonderful. Bar Manager and Ben the regular were absolutely lovely and so helpful and chatty. Only dropping a 🌟 because I only went out looking for some new ales and unfortunately there was only Bank's on in the Queen's. Great banter though. Absolutely recommended.
Always fun, attentive bar staff, beautiful looking traditional pub. Great decor. Good prices. Land lady and family are extremely friendly and charming. The Landlord and licensee is exceptional and at the top of his game. Nice one.
