We had booked onto the CL but due to the wet weather we were offered a pitch on the commercial site next door which we gratefully accepted .When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and shown to our pitch .The pitch was gravel hardstanding fairly narrow but level which is great if you are in a motorhome. We walked I to Stokesley from the site - about 20 minutes . Stokesley is a lovely place with independent shops and cafes and interesting buildings . We had only booked one night as we were on our way to another campsite where we are not allowed to arrive until 2.30pm .We asked if it would be okay to stay until after we had lunch and the answer was a resounding YES . We will definitely be back and hopefully for longer next time .In stikesley you can get a bus to Middlesborough or Great Ayton . You can opt for electricity-metered or not the choice is yours .There is water and an elsan emptying point and rubbish bins .We don't require anything else .There is some road noise and farm traffic but honestly it didn't bother us as it was so peaceful through the night .
I stayed here for 4 nights in early April for a pitch on the CL. Due to the amount of rain earlier that week, the grass CL was closed, but I was happy to be offered a pitch on the commercial site with hard standing. We had a warm welcome from Barbara and would definitely stay again as the location was just right as our relatives live close by. I dont agree with the 1-2 star reviews because of 'no facilities'. There's metered electrical hookup , fresh water and chemical disposal which is all you can reasonably expect for the pitch fee charged. For more facilities you'd need to choose an alternative site and pay more.
Ideal location for Stokesley and visiting the North Yorkshire Moors, by car, cycling or walking.
Visited some friends for couple of hours, they were camping there. They love staying at ghis campsite but has no facilities, not even a bin! We took friends rubbish home as the owner is not willing to supply it, also no dog waste bins, but dogs welcome....
Great CL site close to village of Stokesley. Also has a commercial site attached. Lovely helpful owners well maintained site
