We stayed in Rose Cottage. Damaris was so welcoming. We feasted on raspberries, strawberries, and new potatoes from the garden, with a full range of herbs to pick from, and we made bread in the aga. Our twenty-something sons were enchanted with the shepherds hut and the view across the field, hoping to see the owl. There are lovely walks from the house, and more within a short drive. A gem!

Camped for one night while doing the Way of the Roses cycle route. Run by a very friendly couple - I took advantage of the option for an evening meal and breakfast (home cooked and mostly home grown) an exceptional place to spend a night.

This is a beautiful and amazing place to stay. Beautiful house, garden and surrounding countryside, with stunning views. l stayed in the lovely garden room, which was extremely comfortable. Dave and Damaris were excellent hosts who made delicious food. We had great chats. I'll be back soon!

Beautiful place in a quiet corner just out of Ripon, right next door to Studley Royal Deer Park. Room was really lovely and clean, and stocked with every running book you could ever want. Dave was so friendly and laid back, and told us some great stories about his amazing experiences with fell running, ultras, and endurance cycling. Our breakfast was healthy and delicious, complete with home made bread, granola and plenty of fresh fruit. We were just passing through on The Way of the Roses (perfect spot for doing it in two days), only wish we could have stayed for the whole experience!

Perfect stopover point for a 2 day Way of the Roses Cycle. Stayed in the garden room for the night which was comfortable for weary legs as we sampled the vast collection of CD and vinyl Dave has collected. Very friendly and welcoming (even offered us a beer on arrival) with plenty on offer for breakfast. Hosts were chatty and interested in their guests. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use again. The tree house looked cool for an overnight stop for couples aswell!
