Very welcoming hosts who made a fantastic full English breakfast. Basic room but has everything we needed with a comfy bed and only 2 minutes from the High Street.
We stayed for one night to attend a wedding at Hazelwood Castle. Clean room and bathroom. Full English breakfast offered, as well as cereals and toast. Free parking nearby. Towels were lovely and fluffy!
Great central location with plenty of parking nearby. Hotel manager Kay was extremely helpful with information or where to eat. Accommodation is modest, very comfortable bed and lovely soft towels. Stayed there for a wedding 3 miles away which was fine, thankyou.
On arrival the hotel was locked, on phoning the number written on a piece of paper stuck on the door I was told to wait a few minutes as 'I'm not here'. I thought this was a hotel not an Airbnb? The person who finally unlocked the hotel door to me could not have been any less helpful or friendly if she'd tried. When I finally got into the room it was clearly not one of those pictured on the website, with furniture and fittings circa 1960. The bathroom also reminded of something from a 1970's guest house - with a tiny shower and shower curtain that didn't contain the water, resulting in a flooded bathroom. I was missing cups, so took to the phone again "are you sure? They should be there" "I'm sure and they're not there" only to be told to get my own from the kitchen. Please note, breakfast is served from 8:30 - 9:30 on a Saturday, hard luck if you want something before that time. If you'd like some themed hotel from back in the day when Britannia ruled the waves and service was something they did 'over there' this is your kinda place. I counted my blessings that it was only one night.
Fantastic landlady. Personality is out of this world. Very welcoming. Breakfast is good full English with cereal and fruit juice if wanted. Good clean rooms. Tea and coffee supplied.
