A great cafe ( with playroom upstairs) that doesn't compete with the crowd around the market place and if you don't want to pay more for the tourist view then come here. Food cooked to order and very tasty. I had the small breakfast and my wife a panini and both were very good. Lovely service too. We spied the toasted teacakes as we left and will be back for one soon. They look enormous! A delightful spot away from the crowds...

I recently visited Brew and Bite Café in Thirsk for a business networking event and was genuinely impressed. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed—perfect for a quick coffee break or a longer catch-up. The staff are friendly and attentive, creating a real sense of community. My coffee was excellent, and the selection of cakes and light bites was both fresh and tempting. It’s clear the team take pride in both their service and the quality of their offering. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great independent café in the heart of Thirsk.

I had arranged my daughter’s 2nd birthday in the playroom upstairs last Sunday. Eleanor had been accommodating & communicated well with me leading up to the day. She had provided some cutlery, plates, etc for the party and had allowed for me decorate the room myself to make it special for my daughter. The room is perfect for a small private party for only a handful of children. Everyone had a lovely time and the coffees Eleanor had provided for the adults were great. My little one had definitely enjoyed herself. Thank you Eleanor 🤗

Visited with two friends and our young children and unfortunately had a very uncomfortable experience due to the attitude of the staff member serving that day. We went upstairs to the advertised play area, unaware we needed to sign in first as there was no clear signage explaining this. Instead of a polite explanation, we were spoken to in a way that felt abrupt and confrontational, which set the tone for the visit. When my friend asked for her chilli served separately so it could be shared with her toddler (as there is no children’s menu available), the response from staff was extremely unprofessional. The way she was spoken to included inappropriate language, which felt unnecessary and quite shocking given this is a family environment. Ordering food felt awkward, and there didn’t seem to be much flexibility or willingness to help. There were very limited options suitable for young children and the jacket potato we received was hard and mostly uneaten. The children enjoyed the play space, but the atmosphere created by the staff made the experience stressful rather than relaxing. Even though I've visited on a few occasions previously, based on this visit I will not return again. I couldn’t recommend it to other parents until customer service improves and families are made to feel welcome rather than an inconvenience.

Lovely spot for a light lunch! Really enjoyed the curried vegetable soup and the giant Yorkshire pudding! Such a lovely staff with such warm and welcoming service! Would definitely recommend!
