Wow! What a find this place was. We go to lots of dog friendly places, but have noted a vast difference between ‘dog friendly’ and dogs allowed. This place made such a huge fuss over my whippet, and he loved his doggy sausage. They are without a doubt; dog friendly. Staff were incredibly attentive. And the food was delicious!

The owners; chef & lovely fiancée were a delight. Arriving on a rainy late afternoon an hour before closing it was slow. Saw The Boss memorabilia on walls. After eating very yummy foods I spoke with this restaurant proprietor about The Bruce. Out popped the Chef & chatted up of concerts of stories after great eats. It’s a good meal that brings folks together. One of the best restaurant experiences in a long while as the staff were wonderful & caring ladies who were charming. Back for breakfast & will return in a few days, too. All foods are cooked to order & very fresh & flavorful, off-season tomatoes were very good. Very crisp lettuce. The sourdough bread was delicious. Try the Yorkshire ham, Brie, pear & apple on grain bread, oh la la. The fruit scone was too big but ate every crumb. Most excellent coffee in large cups-bravo. Best quiches, soups & sandwiches! Pick up a fun tea towel souvenir. Well done Yorks at Thirsk! Best success for your endeavors & hard work. Note: back for 4th time as it’s that heathy & consistency deliciouss Clean restaurant. Lovely place to have full English for my lunch and coffee. Delicious scone it will be even better with clotted cream. Be honest the price is a bit pricey but I think it’s everywhere after Covid.
