The Lord Nelson

My friend Graham brought me to try this place. The staff are lovely and friendly. The food is basic and nothing fancy but done absolutely perfectly. The veg was cooked perfectly and amazing Yorkshire puds. And nice meat. Will definitely be going again 😍

We dropped in here this evening for a meal after reading previous reviews we had read. The lady behind the bar was so friendly and helpful. The food we ordered was lovely and real good value for the money. The drinks are very reasonably priced and a good selection. The atmosphere was very relaxing. We would definitely return if in the area for a drink or a meal.

Went here on Saturday night while on a visit to Thirsk, found the place to be friendly and the choice of drinks varied. We saw they did meals and booked for Sunday dinner. It was fantastic, large portions and hot straight from the kitchen. The pub itself is very clean and worth a look if your visiting Thirsk for a couple of days.

Had Sunday lunch here yesterday and it's one of the best Sunday lunches I have had. There were 6 of us and 3 dogs, we did ring about an hour before to check and they had a table reserved for us when we arrived. They do small, medium and normal portions of Sunday lunch, and they are large portions. All 6 meals were excellent and all really hot. The only thing that could be improved was to serve cauliflower cheese, which they dont do, but small price to pay for such a lovely meal. The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble . Highly recommend The Lord Nelson and will certainly be back when next in Thirsk.

The Nelson is always amazing and have never had a bad meal. Went tonight for fish and chip Friday and oh wow! It was absolutely whale and chips! Beautifully cooked, amazing service and atmosphere! Love, love, loved it! Thank you so much Tanya and Bill x
