Very friendly, busy restaurant on a Friday night. Excessive menu with all the usual choices and quite a few new ones. Value for money was good large portions both in curries and sundries. TASTY, HOT AND DELICIOUS.
Absolutely gorgeous food. Very friendly and professional service from all the staff. The restaurant is also beautiful. It was very busy but all the staff handled everything in a timely and professional manner. We can highly recommend this fantastic restaurant. Tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as customers had left, tables were made and customers were seated straight away. Minimal food waste here, lots of empty plates, which was great to see. We're looking forward to our next meal. Table for two. The only thing I would recommend is a stand for the menus as they kept slipping off the table. Well done to all the staff for providing a fantastic service.
After a busy day and I called at the Black Cardamom for the first time. The welcome was friendly and helpful. the service was efficient and swift. The portions were generous and (for a takeaway) well presented. But most importantly the food was delicious, beautifully spiced, gentle on the palate, easy on the tummy and a delight all round. Mixed Kebab and Chefs Special Chicken with Pilau Rice; Simple fare, beautifully balanced flavours - heartily recommended. Oh and the price wasn’t bad either. And I never post…. Usually !
Not busy but the service was slow BUT the food was excellent the tandoori lambs liver possibly the best iv had the tandoori mixed grill very good and garlic rice was good and very very reasonably priced I give 9.5/10
We have just celebrated Christmas Day 2025 at the fabulous Black Cardamom, Thirsk. The meal was delicious and great value for money. The atmosphere friendly and relaxed. The staff were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. A great way to spend Christmas! Thank you x
