We have a fairly big Victorian house in Northallerton. One of the corbel stones at the corner of a gable broke and the coping stones started to slip. Lee from Wizard came and measured it, he then arranged for a mason to cut a new coping stone and a week later he sent a friendly, helpful and efficient team to remove the broken corbel and fit a new one. The job was done in a day. I cannot say if it was cheap or expensive as He hasn't sent the invoice yet, but I can say I am very please with Wizard.

AVOID Unworthy of the Federation of Master Builders Mark. I asked for solution to a leaky skylight on my roof and for pointing to be done to prepare my property to be sold. 2 estimates were emailed. The more expensive choice offered was with more attention to the pointing and offered damp proofing. The cheaper was for £960. The description of the repair stated Fiberglass repair to the skylight and pointing. I phoned to accept the cheaper. The two men who turned up used my ladder to access the third storey skylight and wore no safety protection and used no roof ladder only took tiles out and put his feet in them which i said may have comprimised the internal roofing felt. The first day they left having stuck bitumen tape down the verticle sides of the skylight only . This was not satisfactory or value for money. Day 2 did the same for the second skylight and the top of that one and also the lower edge of both. Day 3 got the top of the second skylight bitumen taped and the flapping bitumen tape restuck with the dust and grit removed. The pointing had been "completed" on one third of the rear wall base and one stone at the front of the house. A different pair of men arrived to complete that task when I complained. They did the rest of the visible gaps but would not match the first mens work that had covered the damp course as they said that was not the way to do it. Also that the fiberglass solution to the skylight. I expected was some kind of a case - wouldn't have stuck to glass anyway as was quoted! I can see there is a new crack in the skylight glass and fear it will leak. I have asked Lee to come and look at it because I am not satisfied the job I asked for has been done. He emailed to say he will only come if I pay the full amount first which seems unfair. Am I right in witholding payment until the work is finished?

Wizzard came to do a job they were clearly not qualified to do. £20,000 later they left site, took goods we had been charged for and never came back, without any correspondence. They “Accidentally” installed solid pipe in a 300ft soak away drain in a garden rather than perforated. Set paving lower than the drains they installed. Pointed arco drains without the tops on (meaning the tops would never fit) charged to move diggers that were left on site unnecessarily and charged for grease to maintain their machines. Appalling customer service and sadly seem to get away with it. I’m a huge supporter of local business but these guys take advantage of our good nature.

Having been let down by two other local firms who promised to quote and didn't, it was such a relief to find Wizard, who turned up when they said the would, gave a fair quote and then did a great job and so friendly with it. Recommended unreservedly.
