Humphrey and Tilly

Rude So, I visited earlier today with the intention of purchasing a Schoffer jacket and ask about alterations to a suit. I waited patiently for the staff to finish with a customer. As he finished the shop phone was ringing. Rather than speak to me the member of staff answered the phone and disappeared into the small room to take the call. I then left the shop. I returned half an hour later. The same staff member was still glued to the phone. Another staff member politely asked if he could help me. As I was about to speak, the staff member on the phone abruptly asked us to stand in the opposite corner of the shop as he wouldn’t be able to hear his phone call. I believe in supporting local businesses and don’t mind paying the additional prices charged for their overheads. However, I will no longer support Humphrey & Tilly based on today’s extremely poor experience.

Very poor customer service I have been a very loyal customer to H&T since they opened. Choosing to shop local rather than online as I prefer to support local companies. Over the years our family have spent a lot of money in both the ladies and men’s shop. Buying things for ourselves and birthday and Christmas presents for family and friends. I spent a lot last Christmas in both shops. Loyalty counts for nothing to one of the owners of this Company. I found a voucher for £100 which I had totally forgotten about so I phoned just to check that they would still accept this voucher not expecting a problem - but it was an emphatic rude NO!!!! I was flabbergasted that a small company like themselves have no custom service. He said it wouldn’t go through the till but he could clearly have helped me out if he had wanted to. So he has my hundred pounds and is keeping it. He will not get another penny from myself or my family. I really regret giving him custom in the first place.

Needed a suit for a wedding. Staff were really helpful, friendly & had an amazing knowledge of what would suit me. Nothing seemed too much trouble & I felt very at ease as it was my first experience of having a suit fitted. I am very happy with the suit & also the cost. Would 100 per cent recommend this shop.
