The George has reopened under very friendly new owners. We popped in on a busy Friday night when the pizza van was in town. Both the beer (Theakston's XXX) and food were excellent. Be aware that the pub isn't doing its own food so check when the street food is available if you want to eat and also the days they are open at the beginning of the week. The pub has been tastefully renovated with exposed stone walls and plenty of tables indoors and out.
Only visited briefly for a quick drink on a quiet Sunday afternoon, but a welcome return of the village pub after years of neglect. Will return again to experience more. The internal decor is a great improvement and the external area has been improved too.
