Went for a birthday afternoon tea, they said they provided a vegan option and this is what i got, veg and a sandwich with just cucumber in. This is appalling, no vegan cake no other options just veg and half assed sandwich. The avocado was sat in lemon juice which was disgusting and inedible. If ur going to offer a vegan afternoon tea at least bother to make it good not just chuck veg on a plate. Afternoon tea for 6 people £90!!! Not worth it i wouldnt recommend and will never be coming back. UPDATEE: incase anyone wants to see how the owner reacts to a bad review I’ve provided screenshots, he is convinced ive tried to ruin his buisness because me and my family left three bad reviews, ive never seen someone so rude id steer clear from gin and scone.

Just had a surprise party at the venue for our son in law. Whole process from start to finish was very good, owner kept reassuring and advising our daughter on food and how many to cater for. We had a brilliant night all staff were amazing friendly and helpful so good to have such a loverly venue on our door step. Well done for taking it over and transforming the place.

The inside was nice and clean, and the bartender was lovely to chat to! The food didn't take long to come and the drinks were nice! Not much cocktail choices despite being a bar at night, or maybe I just missed that they had more than 3 or 4? Music was sometimes too loud, which was a shame, but was lovely all around!

Ordered a chicken burger and beans on toast. Burger came out 15 minutes before the beans on toast, chips were cold. Then the "beans on toast" came out, we both actually burst out laughing. Cold beans threw on a plate, 2 slices of toast chucked on top of them. So "toast on beans" And cheese that didnt even begin melting cause everything was freezing. Don't want a refund, we ate it cause we were starting, but definitely will not be coming back. Zero effort was put in.

A lovely cafe, with plenty of parking called Gin and SCONE but don’t expect any scones on a Saturday morning. Have tried three different Saturdays, the first visit at 9am, no scones ready the chef was just making them, the next visit was at 10am, again no scones the chef was just making them and today at 10.35, again no scones but this time the chef had nipped out so the staff were unsure when they would be any scones available. Might be better to rename yourselves gin and no scones! Certainly won’t be heading back again.
