Area feels a little run down. Units seem to be within a residential compound which felt weird entering. Charger strange layout but it did work and charge my car. Costs were higher than most places, only charged at 50kw with no other cars there. You do need to pay for parking but it’s only £1 per hour with ringo. It’s just by the river tees so nice walks around and 10 min walk to town.
Unbelievable that this expensive charger also required you to pay for parking. Should be clear signs next to the charger indicating this. Received a fine through the post and tried to plead my case as I was only there 40 minutes, but to no avail.
Should have read the reviews. Charged my car here and also received a parking fine. You don't pay for parking when you are using a petrol station, why here? I was there specifically for the charging, no other reason. Why not include the parking cost in the charge payment. Very poor service. Avoid at all costs.
05 March 2024 18:50 BEWARE. I used this INSTAVOLT charger in February 2024 for 40 minutes and have just received a Car Park violation charge for £100. There is no indication on your website that there is a parking charge, there is no sign at the car park entrance and there if there was a warning on the Instavolt signs it was not prominent. Looking at Google Steetview, The only sign appears to be an extremely small one on a lamp post outside the carpark behind and to the right of the chargers. I find this totally unacceptable and appears to be a source of revenue, taking advantage of unsuspecting motorists using the Instavolt service. AVOID
DO NOT USE. The QR code is not for instavolt and a sticker. A company took £1250 out of my account for 19kw of power. Police have told me to cancel my card. The stickers are over the instavolt details. Once you use the QR code your card details go to a company in bangkok. They then tried to take a further payment of £23,511 pounds from my account but I didn't have that much in the account thank goodness.
