House of Ladies & Gentlemen

My hair restyle from medium length to short with this Hairdresser in Ingleby Barwick "House of Ladies and Gentlemen" in March 2025 was amazing! Absolutely loved my short new hairstyle! Easy to maintain and style after washing! Absolutely skilled, fabulous job 🥰 This Salon is under new management and it's great to have a hairdresser not too far from me where I live! Also on the 15 or 16 Bus route so easy to travel to 👍

Bit of a mixed bag this place, it’s a coin flip whether you get a decent service. One particular member of staff I avoid like the plague here based on experience (unfair the mention name) has real chip on his shoulder. My latest experience was them being 30mins late, being sent to wait and watch the staff build flat pack furniture. It’s more like a student house than a professional business. Everyone seems to be self employed and occasionally will insist on cash payment even though card is available.

Gemma was wonderful. She was so patient with small one and managed to sort out her hair beautifully. It was only her first day there too.

Not sure how a business can run like this. My wife visited with my 11 Yr old son today only to be told 'appointment only' whilst two barbers were sat on their phones looking like they couldn't be bothered. Don't worry...she gave our business, a healthy tip and a 5 star review to one of your competitors. I'm up for sharing the love when it comes to great service....but this was just rubbish. No effort to even offer an appointment or book in the future. Oh well...your loss.

Poor experience. Had an appointment booked for 17:30. Apparently I booked the 30 min cut instead of the 45 min one (have no clue of what they are based on, I always have had a cut on 30 min). I sit down and I get a bad look from the hairdresser (apparently my hair was too long?). Showed him a photo of what I wanted to get done, and immediately says that’s a 45 min cut not a 30 (their schedule says they shut down at 18:30). He didn’t wanted to get it done on a rush, and options were rather having a cut I didn’t wanted or re book another appointment. Went to my car, which was parked at bishop’s, booked an appointment at 18:30 at KAMO barber, also in Durham. Waited until 18:10 then started my walk there, which I passed in front of House of gentlemen and was already closed. 25 minutes early and after denying to do me a haircut. KAMO did me a spot on haircut, cheaper, and guess what, on 30 minutes. Go to KAMO, don’t go this place…
