Be aware that h+t don't have a legal obligation to offer you a fair price - so they don't. They rely on you not understanding the true value and take advantage. My elderly mother received 60% less for her silver than if she'd gone to pretty much any other pawnbrokers to sell silver or gold. If understand this and are ok with it, crack on. If not, avoid and go elsewhere and get a fair price. Even though it's technically not illegal, it's a classic rip off tactic and the pricing policy seems specific to h+t

In early January 2025 I decided to sell two Britania coins. I phoned H&T and I was offered £920 per coin. I informed the shop assistant that EVERY responsible gold dealer in the UK was offering £2,230 per coin. I asked why H&T pawnbrokers were trying to con me out of £2620 on a single transaction. The shop assistant replied, "That's our company policy". I emailed H&T pawnbrokers head office and I received a reply stating, everything I was told was correct. I written back, 'is it your company policy to pay 40% of the going exchange rate for scrap gold (bullion price) instead of paying what the gold is worth? They didn't respond. Be very, very careful if you are considering using this company. Remember, their company policy is to rob you of as much as they can.

I'd had an evaluation of some gold from an alternative source in Stockton that told me my merchandise was not 18k and reduced their offer substantially. I went to H&K for a second opinion and had the merchandise retested. The goods were actually 18k (as thought) and I was helped by a lovely lady named Becca and the store manager Peter, They performed the test in store and were very professional. They paid top rates and offered a very professional and fair service. I would recommend H&T to anyone and definitely use them in the future

I made a Blonder while sending money through Western Union in H&T shop located in Stockton, I had lost hope in getting my money back, But the resilience of the shop manager Pete and Nikky made sure I got ever penny back . I am so delighted and happy they gave their best. I will surely do business with them again. Thanks guys. Patrick.

I went in to the Stockton branch and I was greeted with a smile . The lady that dealt with my unwanted and broken gold was Rebecca . This is the second time I have been in and becca was very helpful. She explained all the options to me . And presented excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend the Stockton branch it was so warm and welcoming thumbs 👍up.5 star service.
