I feel I’ve given a fare review on our experience of our stay. I’ll start with the positives Lodges are absolutely unbelievably stunning with fantastic amenities, honestly one of the best we’ve stayed in. The location in my opinion is perfect situated with picturesque views and extremely quiet. Negatives Checking times aren’t ideal in my opinion, Check in wasn’t until 4 pm and as we checked inn in December it was pitch black which with a small child isn’t ideal. I personally believe that 10 am check out isn’t convenient either. Unfortunately hence my overall 3 star review we also had an issue with checking in. On arrival we made our way to the lodge and inputted our key code choice ( which I believe is a fantastic idea) to find that the code didn’t work. I then had to visit reception where I explained the situation and a gentleman stated he would visit the lodge and rectify the issue. The said gentleman visited the lodge and stated that they weren’t aware of our arrival as we booked the night before ( 7.15 PM) and the lodge wasn’t ready for our arrival which was extremely frustrating and put a downer on what should have been a relaxing weekend stay. Plus we also found previous guests clothing within the walking wardrobe in the master bedroom. Considering the lodge cost nearly £500.00 for two nights I find the above points unacceptable.
Went for a few nights Monday to Thursday this week and it was possibly the best place I've stayed in with my family, the lodge was welcoming and felt like a second home with the spacious rooms and bathroom, that has what I'd like to say the best shower ever being overhead, spent the nights in the hot tube enjoying the view of the sunset and hearing the owls. There's also loads of places that's only a few hours drive taking you through the Yorkshire moors for more stunning views.
This should have been a really great place to have a rest. Although after paying £280 for two nights and one day, having your door rapped on at 10.10, a mere ten minutes after check out time (sorry we didnt wake earlier), to be told we need to leave, is extremely disappointing. I wont be coming here again. As a reply, ten minutes late to leave is hardly enough to warrant being told to leave. Have a little compassion next time, especially considering how expensive your "glamping pods" are for such a small amount of time and such a small place. Your service is awful and I'll gladly accept your response in not returning!
Really enjoyed our stay. Seems quiet and relaxing, especially with the hot tub, unless you've got kids with you 🙈. There's a little play park but not much else on site, but plenty to do within a short distance. The site seems very tidy and luxurious. Would like to come back again, just me and my wife, for a weekend sometime.
We've just got back from a lovely weekend here! We stayed in a Glamping pod that came fully equipped with everything you need! The Pods are spacious and have been designed to high spec! On arrival we was greeted with a lovely little welcome pack which included dog biscuits, a bowl and poo bags (for our little pooch) and milk in the fridge (nice little touch) to go with the teabags and coffee provided. I can't say anything bad about this stay, the location, the cleanliness and the facilities were all great! It's all in a secured area with a coded gate so you feel safe. They had a gate to fields & a wooded area, perfect for those evening walks. Overall a great stay and I'm sure we will be back again soon :)
