This is our 10th visit in 6 years......an absolutely fantastic place. Liz and David are exceptional hosts and not forgetting Trish who always has a smile on her face. A beautiful country ancestry house set in stunning 1500 acres parkland....a very welcoming and relaxing place to stay....and the Buck Inn, the local pub in the village is just a short walk away for a meal and a pint in the evening.
Perfection... Many visits and still never disappointed... wonderful to stay in a stately home surrounded by grandeur and style .... wonderful friendly hospitality every time with the most excellent generous breakfast! We can't recommend this place enough !!!!! Liz and David are charming hosts.
A stunning place, steeped in history, in beautiful grounds. This is the home of Sir David John Smith-Dodsworth, who greeted us on arrival and treated us like old friends. The house is fascinating, full of oil paintings of portraits of David's ancestors and people connected to the family going back to 1620. We relaxed in front of a log fire, sipping single malt from the honesty bar and browsing the family's collection of ancient books which went back to the 16th century. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was extremely generous. Staying here was an amazing experience, a privilege and a pleasure.
Stunning setting and unique building. Perfect for history lovers where else can you see family tradition hanging on the walls. Highly recommended
Absolutely superb.....we stay 2 or 3 times a year and have done for the last 3 years. Charming and friendly coupled with the best breakfast anyway.
