Thrybergh Academy

After my daughter has transitioned to Thrybergh, she received some horrible racist and threatening messages from another pupil who said he was going to "slice her up for dinner", threatening to bring a knife to school. Since then I have not sent my daughter to school as she is petrified of going back, yet all Thrybergh are concerned about is her attendance. The letter I have just received states the following: "Being in school is important to every child's achievements, WELLBEING and wider development." - Yet they are showing no signs of care towards my daughters well being as they have done absolutely nothing to the boy who threatened to stab her, and instead insist on me sending her back to school. 2 months ago, a 15 year old was stabbed to death in school, on his dinner time, in Sheffield, not even 20 minutes drive from where we live, and you just expect me to send my daughter back to the very school she has been threatened to be stabbed at? I am currently in the process of writing up emails to both our local MP and newspapers, and will also be publicising the matter on social media. I will not be targeted and fined over my daughters absence just because the school likes to allow this sort of behaviour. Currently looking into getting her into Wickersley or Bernards, since Thrybergh is obviously a terrible school, as evidently shown over phone and via letters. "The child in matter understands the situation and is showing remorse" - I couldn't give a flying fart if they're showing remorse, an 11 year old should not be throwing racist and life threatening remarks towards another student, and the fact he hasn't been disciplined even slightly shows where Thrybergh truly cares, and it's not for their students wellbeing obviously.

I recently had an incident take place in the community after school involving a couple of pupils. I emailed the school and described the pupils and received a response from the headteacher, Mr Burnham, who had identified the main pupil responsible and spoke to him and his parents. They clearly value their part in supporting the community and school’s get a lot of criticism. I think it’s important to also highlight, when they are getting it right. Thank you Mr Burnham!

Shocking school my son is currently on transition and its safe to say come September he will not be coming here absolute disaster they have taken no time to look at my sons SEN what was passed over from his previous school and all the can do when they is a issue is fob you off , you can't seem to get to speak to anyone all you get is we will send them a email, picked this school as his friends was coming here and its been nothing but a headache since transition day 1, AVOID

Terrible school, promote bullying. Head of years prefer removing bullied students rather than dealing with bullies for an easy life. Too much responsibility in a school they cannot control.

Not a good school at all lots of bullying and im happy to have left there with some sort of knowledge
