Description

Greystones, Thwaite, sleeps five in kingsize double, twin and single bedrooms, with a really spacious bathroom, which has bath and separate shower. The spacious living room, with open fire, as well as central heating, and lovely leather sofas, is light and warm, and the dining kitchen is well-equipped, with separate utility room for muddy boots. A cobbled courtyard to the rear leads into a small lawned garden, with lovely views of Kisdon. Parking for up to two cars.

Thwaite has the Kearton Country Hotel, and a mobile fish and chip van calls every Friday evening, highly recommended by local residents.

Muker is a half hour walk away, with the Farmer’s Arms pub (which welcomes dogs), and Hazel Brow Organic Farm is in Low Row, which also has the Punch Bowl Inn. There are local food, gift and craft shops and galleries throughout the dale, while Reeth, nine miles away, is a bustling larger village with a variety of pubs, shops, facilities and a good little Friday market.

Over the tops in Wensleydale, you can find the lovely market towns of Leyburn and Hawes, home of the Wensleydale Creamery, while a few miles away is the wild and magnificent scenery of Arkengarthdale.

Greystones, Thwaite, is a lovely cottage for a relaxing holiday in Yorkshire.
