Hayhurst BJM / Swan Builds

Initially satisfied with work carried out August 2022 however January 2023 the roof is now leaking when it wasn't before, causing damage to both roof structure and internal finishes. Total paid £3,175. I contacted Swan Builds/Hayhurst BJM over a month ago politely requesting they return to take a look, however the response was they were fully booked for the next 3 months and they seemed to suggest the leaking was nothing to do with them. After reminding them of the minimum company guarantee of 5 years on the completed works I was then ignored. After having actual qualified professionals inspect the roof it soon became apparent everything they did was carried out incorrectly and has to be redone. This will also necessitate the considerable expense of scaffold access. I sent a list of issues to Swan Builds/Hayhurst BJM who predictably are still unwilling to return and not prepared to accept any responsibility for their poor workmanship ending their message with 'I suggest you find yourself another roofer'. - Front patch already has a missing slate, broken and chipped slates, wrong size slates, cuts missing in the lead valley, felt exposed that will drag moisture into the roof space, virtually bond on bond. - Low quality materials have been used - Spanish slate instead of Welsh reclaimed, unbranded felt and rough sawn timber. - Already had to have some wood on left hand side of front apex replaced as new wood badly screwed to fascia at an angle and rotten wood left in place with water running between the pieces when raining. - Various slates replaced around the roof stuck in place with mastic - not a suitable fixing method. Slates cracked through stuck together with mastic and gaps that should have been attended to. - Ridge tiles that were meant to be rebedded where loose have just been buttered up/pointed over - another bodge. - Dry verge cut down to fit incorrectly on the annex gable with inappropriate drywall screws only suitable for internal use. The verge should have been sitting under battens and fixed through.
