It's a shop that just happens to be in a mill rather than a traditional mill shop where you actually buy something the mill produces. It has a bit of lots of things but mostly peripheral. There's a bit of decor, homewares, toys, clothes and shoes, nicely displayed, and much of it from the East and pricey. The cafe is pricey for the standard fare it offers. So what's the draw, then? It's the large garden centre across the road owned by the same family. It used to be a collection of sheds, where alongside the plants, you could rummage around and find some interesting and novel items. It was one of the earlier adopters of Chinese goods. It's much more organised and expanded these days with landscaping supplies and decor,a florists, aquatic supplies, animal feed and equipment, a cafe and a farm food section (£££). It does seasonal themed displays at Christmas and Easter. It has a large free carpark and usually busy. It's a destination.

This is a lovely store great for visiting and there's plenty to see. I was disappointed though when I visited today. They had positioned a rack of shoes to the left of the till. Whilst looking through the shoes I was unaware that the chrome ends were positioned in such a way that it allowed elderly prople like me to nearly fall flat on my face! To make matters worse there was no response from the staff near the till nor the young lad serving behind the till. They carried on as if nothing happened! I asked for the rack of shoes to be repositioned but I don't think they were health snd safety aware, and I don't think this would have been done. It allows for someone to trip and head straight towards the counter to bang your head! After suffering life threatening emergency surgery last year I don't want to finish up on a shop floor! Manager: please make sure the rack is in a safer place. Very sad indeed 😩

Ordered a steak pie and chips. The chips arrived cold, so I made the staff aware and they said they were going replace them with some fresh ones. After 5 minutes the food came back and all they had done is microwave the entire meal so was now soggy. I complaind and eventually after 10 minutes the manager refunded the meal. No apologies, no explanation did t seem to care. I am sure environmental health would regarding reheating cold food. Definitely avoid!!!! IGNORE THE COMMENTS FROM THE CAFE BELOW. THEY ARE LIES AND A FORMAL COMPLAINT HAS BEEN MADE TO GORDON RIGG 18/10/2025

This is a lovely place, the staff are relaxed but friendly & very helpful. Food is reasonably priced and they offer a wide range of items on the menu, including weekly specials. The meat pie is fantastic!
