Bogus review left earlier by someone posing as me. John the owner is a lovely chap and has paid us in full for his signage. Whoever is leaving these fake reviews has again been reported to google. I really hope I find out who is leaving these negative reviews using my name
We have bought three paintings from John at the gallery. All of which are original and we love them a lot. Geoff is a genuine artist with a real talent and is a credit to Todmorden and the surrounding area. If Geoff was a ‘fraud’ that previous comments have alleged, then the Royal Institute would not have entertained or hung his paintings. One of which we own! A fantastic and lovely gallery and an asset to the town.
Long overdue review of a gem of a place. A few weeks ago I popped in to take a closer look at the stunning paintings of Geoff Butterworth. As a local resident and having recently taken up watercolours, I find his work utterly beautiful. It’s always a bit daunting walking into an art gallery, but John was absolutely lovely, he was so welcoming and I loved how passionate he was the artists he is supporting. He was very generous with his time. I left with a Geoff Butterworth signed print of ‘the Return of Spring ‘, I know I will be back! Highly recommended to locals and visitors to the area ! It was a wonderful experience ! Thanks John for your warm welcome!
This gallery is great! I popped in with my parents and partner last weekend and really enjoyed taking a look around. John is a lovely guy, who is so passionate about his gallery and sharing the art that he loves. He has created a great space, with a place to sit and take in the art at your own pace. The 2 comments on here about one artist being a "fraud" are incredibly unfair. Regardless of whether they think this is the case, to tarnish this entire gallery (which showcases other artists as well) with this negative opinion is very poor. Do yourselves a favour and check it out. Make up your own mind ☺️
A lovely welcoming gallery. The owner spends time discussing each painting with you in detail. I have bought two paintings from here, one of which is by Geoff Butterworth. It gives me great pleasure as it illustrates the area I lived in. The second is by Radoslav Marinov which is also a beautiful painting.
