A very surprising find. Great Thai food; the tenderest duck, great stir fry. Great selection of beers. Cozy and atmospheric (have you ever been to a Thai decorated pub??) Highly recommend. One of the very few places that served food on Saturday evening

Excellent pub, fabulous interior, good beer. Although we didn't try the food what we saw of it looked great. Will definitely back...July 25 UPDATE. Called back here to try the food and unfortunately was disappointed. Got the mixed starter just as a quick bite to eat, at £ 13 quid the portions were tiny and tasted like something you'd buy from Iceland. On this occasion based on the food, poor value and poor quality .

Very good food and live music. I wanted to grab some food but the blues night made me stay til midnight. Highly recommended if you are passing by.

Went to the Golden Lion for the first time on NYE. Best new year's I've had in about 10 years. The music was amazing, the crowd were great. It was absolutely rammed so looking forward to going again when it a little less busy. But yeah, loved it. Will be back.

So, my first time in this pub. Id heard a lot about it on the grapevine. So decided to call in here. First impressions, quirky to say the least. Small plastic school style chairs and random tables. Ive visited similar looking pubs in eastern Europe. I loved it. Some decent beers on tap. Buddha beer, dortmumder vier among an array of IPA and real ales. I didn't eat here but the food is Thai and looked and smelt absolutely amazing. Found out there are some top DJs performing there soon. Dave haslam, and Tom wainwright (former hacienda DJ's and jazzy B. Plus orbital) I'm astounded they managed to attract such talent. It's a 5* from me for the overall experience which I want to experience again. Keep up the good work.
