1884 Wine & Tapas Bar blends comfort with class to provide award-winning dining experiences seven days a week. The restaurant opened in 2009 as The Wilson and underwent a transformation in 2015, making an instant impact with simple, local produce given a tapas twist, plus hard-to-find Spanish wines and beers.
The venue was a hit from the start, attracting glowing reviews for a dining experience which maintained the high standards and the easy-going approach by bringing a splash of the Mediterranean to the Humber riviera.
Restaurant Director Deborah Spicer oversaw the complete re-design of the building to incorporate dining booths overlooking the Marina, a private table for those special occasions, birdcage chandeliers and wall-sized wine cabinets as well as a sheltered al fresco area.
The transformation was enough to help 1884 Wine & Tapas Bar rack up the awards, starting with the REYTAs restaurant category in 2016, and it has become a favourite with the business community for important, corporate occasions and for more relaxing, repeat visits with family and friends.
