FlixBus adds thousands of extra seats for Sheffield this summer

Sheffield is set to enjoy a significant travel boost this summer, thanks to a major expansion by coach operator FlixBus, bringing thousands of additional seats for travellers heading to and from the city.

From 1 July, FlixBus will add 3,000 extra seats each week on its popular London–Sheffield route, increasing the frequency to 14 departures each way per day, seven days a week. Passengers will benefit from more flexibility and choice than ever before, whether planning a day trip, a weekend break, or travelling for business.

It’s not just London that’s within easy reach. FlixBus will also launch extra services from Sheffield to Leeds, Nottingham and Leicester, providing affordable and comfortable coach connections across the region and beyond.

FlixBus first launched in the UK in 2021 and now connects passengers to more than 80 destinations across England, Scotland and Wales. Passengers travel in comfort with free onboard Wi-Fi, charging points and guaranteed seating on modern, bright green coaches.

Research by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) suggests an extra coach service every day for a year can contribute up to £1 million to the local economy — meaning this expansion is set to deliver a welcome boost for Sheffield’s businesses, tourism and events.

With the summer calendar packed with big events such as London Pride, Notting Hill Carnival and major concerts by artists including Billie Eilish, Coldplay and the much-anticipated Oasis reunion, FlixBus is giving Yorkshire residents an affordable and sustainable way to join the fun.
