Visited Wakefield library for the first time yesterday after moving into the area. Firstly, can I just say that it’s absolutely brilliant that it’s open after 5pm on a selection of weekdays. The library is in an absolutely beautiful building near the train station with parking nearby. I signed up for a library account online and reserved some books that had arrived in just 2 days! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful & they set me up with a card there and then so that I could issue the books I had reserved. Couldn’t fault this library at all - long may it continue!
Great facility! The local history department is an excellent resource! Unfortunately the Create Cafe is closed Mondays now. A clear case of use it or lose it! Shame because it really is a good cafe.
Wakefield Library is a truly valuable community resource. Whether you need to access computers and the internet, print important documents, or simply seek assistance, the library consistently delivers. I've always found the staff to be incredibly helpful and welcoming, readily assisting with any queries I've had. Beyond the essential services like computer access and printing, Wakefield Library offers a genuinely positive and supportive environment for learning and personal growth. It's more than just a library; it's a place that actively contributes to the community.
Lovely library - well organized, clean, and clearly labeled. The team are happy to help and advise, no matter the issue or concern.
A very relaxing and open free space with a wide range of books and facilities such as computers, a coffee machine, seating and a study area. I enjoy coming here to chill and do work, the one thing that brings this library's rating down is it's uninspiring design.
