absolute WASTE of time, called a tutor to enrol, was told tutor is away from her desk, was given a direct dial number which was the SAME number i called on!! i called 20 mins later & was told she is with someone and will be busy for the REST OF THE DAY!! when i asked what time she starts tomorrow i was told " i dont have access to her calendar" - SO HOW DO YOU KNOW SHE WILL BE BUSY ALL DAY TODAY just by saying she is sitting with someone (unless she skived off home before she should have?? AVOID THIS COLLEGE , honesty and helpfulness is not a priority
Worst college ever, absolute joke don’t even bother. Teachers are horrible and clearly can’t be arsed, if you genuinely care about your mental health do NOT go here. Dropped out after a year, worst year of my life ✌🏻
Very poor experience for our daughter. Little to no SEN support & tutors seem to turn up when they feel like it, which unfortunately isn't very often. Pupils are very often sent home with no notice after waiting around literally for hours only to find their tutor couldn't be bothered that day. Communication with parents is woeful, I have lost count of the number of promised phone calls that haven't happened, plus there is the instance of vitally important documents that sat unposted on someone's desk for over a year. I appreciate this is only one person's opinion, but our daughter has been let down very badly by Wakefield College, and having spoken to other concerned parties we don't seem to be alone here. We will certainly not be sending our other kids here and I strongly recommend you search out independent reviews before entrusting your future with this college, they can certainly talk-the-talk at open evenings but the reality is a bit less rosy.
£3.20 for a small cheesy chips and gravy. they charged me for a large even though its a small. absolutely extortionate. never buying any food (except the vending machines) ever again.
During my first year in 2021-22 I was aware of bullying, I did get bullied but not as much now, When I was in my second year, I did Media studies, The teacher never helped out or supported me and so I went on to do Health and Social Care, I got pulled out of that class and got told I had to be put in a special needs class called GetSet, (lovely group by the way) so I told mum about this and went on a 30 minute rant about how my Media teacher downgraded me, I am still here and I plan on finishing with Wakefield College in 2024. If you want to send your kid here best option is to not be on an EHCP or anything. Make sure your child knows when they want. Also they allow Pronouns and you are expected to follow work based scenarios. You aren't allowed energy drinks which I find ridiculous because no one has said anything yet. Just be aware of the teachers they might bite back at you
