Large pleasant cafe. Great for a break from gallery wandering! There is plenty of seating, including some outside. We just had coffee and cake, which were good. Nice views out onto the river at one end of the space.
A mixed experience. When we arrived there were dirty dishes piled up on our table (and others), which we had to clear away ourselves, wiping the table with napkins without any offer of help from the staff, and service was a little slow (though when I chased up the lady I spoke to was friendly and helpful). We ordered the asparagus and lettuce salad (which promised "free range eggs") at £11.50 and the rarebit at £10. Plus fries to share at £4. Neither of the main courses was particularly successful. The salad came with a shockingly mean one and a half eggs (surely they could have stretched to two whole eggs for that price?) and seemed more like a starter than a main course. The rarebit was rather lacking in flavour. (We liked the skin-on fries though. And our lemon verbena and honey iced tea was at least interesting.) Much better were the cakes. There was a very good range, they seemed freshly made and they were served with a decent pot of tea. I would be more than happy to return for tea and cakes. However, I think the main course food is overpriced and could easily be improved upon. The ideas are good but a little more generosity with the ingredients would be very welcome. (It felt as though someone had been way too overzealous with the costings and portion control, leaving an unsatisfactory outcome for the customer.)
Earth shatteringly delicious! This cafe is truly magical, it really shows off the local scene of creatives whilst welcoming all walks of life. Their season menus always bring new and exciting things to peoples tables! I would personally recommend the poached eggs or the croissants :)

Visited the café for lunch while looking around the gallery, and it was so good we returned for breakfast a few days later. Food was absolutely delicious - high quality, flavoursome ingredients and service with a smile.
