Friendly staff, large resteraunt with plenty of spaced out tables. Poppadoms with a jug or yoghurt mint and a selection of onions, sweet chilli sauce and mango chutney. We then had the sharing starter for 2 which we heard before we saw as it came sizzling to our table. And some onion bhajis, which were some of the best we have had. Of course I had to have the draft, Cobra Lagar to wash it all down with. As we were off to a gig over at Venue 23 over the road, we didn't have time for mains but what we had was more than enough, and the next time we're at a concert we will be back at the Bengal for a curry.
We have been visiting this place for over 5 years travelling up from Devon and staying overnight this has always been a decent curry house. However on our stay last Thursday I can honestly say I have never had a worse meal.starter was well over cooked possibly left over from another day main meal was bland to say the least. Service was shocking. The waiter actually threw my wife's cutlery on the table and just walked off.table service was abysmal and manager just didn't give a toss.will not be visiting again.
A great choice of delicious food and drinks. Prompt service, friendly staff, fresh cooked meals and great portions. Highly recommend and I'm looking forward to going again.
This is a hidden treasure! The food was out of this world and the service has been so lovely. We will definitely returning!!
I have never in my life had such a bad Indian food, I specifically mentioned i need tood spicy but it hardly had any salt. The karahi chicken was sweet the prawn chicken tasted raw. The biryani was like boiled rice. The naam was in a poly bag and on the top on it I got the food in a cloth softener Comfort box. I never give bad reviews but the food was just so bad. Apologies to the chef but they need to start making food which is Indian food instead of serving garbage.
