Haven't been since before 2020. Was not sure what to expect with a variety of positive and negative reviews. Safe to say, I was delighted with my meal. Food was fantastic, value for money was fairly matched with the quality and quantity of the food and drink, really impressed with the taste and the portion sizes, food across the board was impressive. Service was really good and not overly attentive either, felt we were looked after whilst being left to eat our meal. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, felt invited into the restaurant and wanted there, which isn't always the case in all restaurants. We visited at lunch time so the atmosphere was quiet but peaceful with the music and overall environment, I really enjoyed the whole experience and I'd highly recommend giving this a go regardless of reviews. The best review is always your own!
We live local to this establishment, and I very rarely frequent this restaurant, mainly only on small or large group birthdays etc. over the years I’ve found the food ok, at best, as was on Thursday 26th, laced in onions on every dish in order to bulk a dish out cheaply, staff are often extremely rude, again as was. Ignorance and unprofessional towards food allergens is hugely irritating for us as we have children with coeliac disease, this is still long over due training which is mandatory now. Some certificates are easy to come by for this, but you have to back that knowledge up and they lack any respect or empathy towards this. Clearly having been established for a lot of years, they have sustained a Loyal support, I would question why I no so many that have the same experience, time after time, as to why they re visit, maybe it’s in hope of change and lack of restaurant choices in the area. As for service charge, this is NOT compulsory as they were adamant we paid this before being allowed to leave, almost disbelief that anyone thinks they can stop a customer leaving after raising our concerns of the food’s and service.
We dined in on a Saturday night. The place was full but the service was eager and spot on. Drinks came quickly and then the food was brought out without too much wait between courses. We had duck stuffed with prawn meat and the sweet and sour king prawns. The food was fresh and tasty and the sharing starter in particular was lovely. Not a word of complaint, even the folks on the next table enjoyed their food too although the lady was asked about 6 times if she wanted to order a drink 😂. We don’t know their names but they made our night extra special too.
The food was barely warm! They brought out a food warmer with 2 poorly lit tea lights under. You could have rose to London stark naked in it. Sweet and sour chicken was laced with pineapple. Rude staff - had to ask for cutlery for starter and main. When asked for additional hand wipes they were literally thrown in the table. Surcharge added to bill - when I asked to remove it she muttered just pay that, pointing at the total and walked away. Would not go back to this establishment. Carpets & toilets were a disgrace 😡
Terrible quality, food not seasoned at all, wish I could give it a big fat ZERO!!!
