Arrived to a very busy Saturday evening. We had booked in advance and were seated fairly quickly, although payment is taken before you’re shown to your table. Drinks were ordered once seated and we were able to head straight to the buffet. There’s a very wide selection of food, including pan-Asian dishes, curries, pasta and pizza, plus a large dessert section and a pick-and-mix sweets bar. Because it was so busy, the hot dishes were being refreshed frequently, which was a big positive. There is also a teppanyaki station where you can choose your vegetables, noodles, protein and sauces to be cooked in front of you. It was nice to see a decent range of sushi and seafood too. The sushi itself was fine, although the rice was a little overcooked and mushy. The seafood selection included shell-on grilled prawns, ginger and spring onion crab, spicy mayo mussels, garlic king prawns and a few fish dishes, which was a refreshing change from the usual buffet options. The grill station had items such as lamb chops and chicken and lamb skewers. The dessert area was quite chaotic, with lots of children around the chocolate fountain, ice cream and sweets. Ended up only getting a few bits only as there was so many. Overall, the food was above average for a buffet. A pleasant surprise was that several of the Chinese dishes felt closer to authentic Cantonese restaurant-style cooking. It would have been good to see more sneeze guards which are usually standard fare for buffets, the dishes were rather open to everything with the lids not being closed. Service could be improved, as it was quite difficult to get additional drinks in such a busy restaurant, and the tables are very close together, making it awkward to move around with full plates. Vegetarian options were rather lacking - would have been nice to see some tofu options or other mixed vegetable options. I would recommend it, but ideally visit at a quieter time. It can feel quite overwhelming during peak hours, although it did become noticeably calmer around 8 to 9pm.

First time in Panda Mami Wakefield and I was very impressed. Huge buffet with a big choice of foods – sushi, prawns, noodles, curries, meats, Chinese dishes, desserts, fruit with chocolate… everyone will find something they like. Everything tasted fresh and hot. Service was very quick and friendly. Plates were cleared fast and we always had space to try more things. Great place when you want to try different flavours in one visit. We will definitely be back!

As it was my first time going into a different Panda Mami compared to the one in my hometown, the Wakefield branch is a pretty decent place! I had quite an almost amazing service, and I say almost since the staff treated me and my mum well and the atmosphere was amazing. However, the only concern we BOTH had was the fried chicken wings… they smelled and tasted rather funny to us, and it just wasn’t cooked right. Those wings to me tasted as if I fell asleep forever! Honestly, I don’t recommend the fried chicken wings there; the grilled chicken wings, though? That’s where it’s at! And the pizza, ooh, the pizza. It was the highlight of the night!! Even though it was a cheese margarita pizza, it felt like Pizza Hut at an affordable price! For a suggestion, maybe add pepperoni pizza to the menu? Overall, great experience to the staff at Panda Mami Wakefield! Thank you for taking care of me for my belated 22nd birthday treat!

First time trying Panda Mami and I wasnt disappointed. Theres a selection of chinese, thai, indian, pizza, sushi, seafood, grilled and everything else in between! I gave it 4 stars as we were waiting a while for someone to come and take our drinks order, and the curries in the Indian section were really watery and didnt look appetising, so i didnt try anything from this bit even though I do love indian food! Id definitely go back though, theres plenty options for everyone and we had 1 hour 45 minutes to eat!

Food? Surprisingly good. Warm, loads of choice, way more variety than COSMO. No complaints there. Everything else? A comedic nightmare. The place is so packed you basically dine in 4K ultra-close-up of strangers. I couldn’t tell if I was facing a person, a chair, or someone’s left butt cheek. Privacy does not exist here. If you breathe, someone will feel it. Drinks are priced like they’ve been imported from Mount Olympus, and there’s no bottomless option. Noise levels? Somewhere between “busy restaurant” and “airport departure gate.” Great food, chaotic energy. Eat here if you enjoy buffets AND accidental human contact.🤣
