Lovely experience at Stork Lodge Tea Room! Enjoyed a really nice slice of coffee cake with a hot chocolate on a cold winter day, the perfect combination. The place is cozy, and the lady owner was really nice and welcoming. A great spot to relax. Highly recommend!

Tea was nice, was offered extra hot water if needed which was good, person I was with said the Bakewell Tart was nice. So why not 5 ⭐? A few reasons, one is the strictness over the toilet facilities. Now I completely understand making it customers only, but they specifically exclude people who get take out from using the facilities so if you have any thoughts of bobbing in as a pit stop during a long park walk you may want to reconsider. This prevents me from being a regular 🤷 Secondly I've not found them to be super welcoming in general, now maybe it's just my bad luck as other people have said they are very welcoming. For example last visit I asked the person I was with if they wanted a cake, the girl behind the counter just frowned at him and said nothing like it was inconvenient which considering it was very quiet was unexpected

I find it extremely disrespectful and disappointing that I was denied access to the toilet despite being three months pregnant and clearly expressing that I was in urgent need. I explained my situation and pleaded with them, yet they still refused to let me use the facilities, even though the toilet door was open. I understand that the place was closing, but basic human decency and compassion especially toward a pregnant woman should come before strict rules. It was just to use the toilet, nothing more.

Decided to stop for a bite to eat on our walk in the park. So glad we did. The food was freshly cooked and tasty. The cakes were home made and extremely delicious. The service was very friendly.
