Large free car park, near the gypsy pony's field. Start and end of many great walks with the pub not far for a well earned bite or drink! Few minutes walk to the whittling well, follow the flattened grass in the field
Open car park with no defined bays , hard core and gravel standing with a few small holes here and there. It's free to use and park your car. This area has great views towards the Pennine's and over the city of Wakefield. Plenty of walks start from here and the common has paths around and across this ancient common land. There's a pub nearby. Horses and ponies use this land for grazing and are tethered , take care when approaching them , most appear friendly. Great place for a picnic or flying your kite.
Car park is rough ground with no facilities and is free.
A very convenient place to park and explore the nearby woods either on mountain bike, as we did, or walking. Only one mile from the centre of Wakefield, but a different world. The Kings Arms pub is a great place to visit, once it's back open that is.
Plenty of parking space and it's free.
