About Pinderfields General Hospital Car Park
Pinderfields General Hospital Car Park provides essential on-site parking facilities for visitors to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield. Located directly on Aberford Road, this car park aims to offer convenient access for those attending appointments or visiting patients, easing the journey to the hospital campus.
Parking Details
Designed to serve the needs of hospital visitors, the car park offers designated areas for vehicle parking within the hospital grounds. While its proximity to the hospital entrances is a key feature, visitors should be aware that demand for spaces is consistently high, particularly during busy periods.
The car park employs a one-way system for vehicle flow. Users have noted that this system, combined with high occupancy, can sometimes make finding an available parking bay challenging. Instances have been reported where visitors may need to circulate multiple times or even exit and re-enter to find a space, or consider alternative parking options further afield if on-site capacity is reached.
It is highly recommended that visitors allow ample extra time for arrival, not only for navigating the car park itself but also for potentially locating a suitable space before their scheduled appointment or visit.

There is just no management of this car park. Spaces get filled up too fast which causes people to park anywhere they can fit which makes it difficult for others trying to navigate around looking for a spot. They really need to try and expand this area or look at opening another carport within or close to the hospital.
The one way direction make it impossible to turn around. You arrive at the exit without having found a space and have to go back to square one. After a full hour, I gave up and parked in a street nearby where I could have been fined. It is my second nightmarish experience there with is why I had left a full hour to park. This was sadly not enough.
Parking is absolutely terrible. Driving round for ages. Can't park in the pathetic carpark no spaces available. Have to go into town and walk. Need a multi storey as soon as possible.
Mum was in Pinderfields for around 10 days and really looked after her very well, it makes a change from past experiences at this hospital which I won’t go into. Staff and nurses were very good and helpful along with the doctors who went above and beyond their roles . Great shop and cafe so no issues with trying to get something to eat and drink.
It's an extremely busy car park with people just dumping their cars anywhere. I guess if you're going to be late for an appointment or need A&E desperation will play a part. A few metal posts would easily prevent parking on the pedestrian part which is just dangerous. It's certainly not adequate for the size of the hospital.
