Minster Self Drive

Brilliant company. Very helpful. Had a 2025 van for 2 weeks for a great price and just rung to hire for another week and was the same price and only took a minute unlike most other companies out there that charge the earth. I will be using these and recommending them for any future people that are interested. Thanks for a great experience! Spot on!

I wish I’d of read the poor reviews on here and also ‘Yell’ before I decided to hire from the Wakefield branch. Tracey who is on the front desk is the most rude, arrogant and unprofessional person I think I’ve ever experienced. She is extremely nice when you book a hire but once there are things that don’t go to plan she soon changes. She hounds you with phone calls one after one and is very quick to take your money. I unfortunately had a car accident in the hire car I collected from the Wakefield branch and I had my two year old son as a passenger. This was very upsetting and traumatic as most people would understand, however Tracey was ringing me asking for money as soon as the office opened on the Monday. She told me the excess was payable “NOW”. I had no dispute when it came to paying the agreed excess £1,500 (yes very steep) but the way she asked for this without giving me a signed copy of my agreement was so rude and didn’t even ask if we were ok after the accident ( which in customer service I’m sure that it is priority to show empathy). I asked for the documents that I had signed and her response was “Look, you hired a car and you crashed it, what’s difficult about that?” To say I was stunned was an understatement. Luckily, Amie at the head office in Middlesbrough was amazing, she was really understanding, empathetic and was an example of how situations like this should be dealt with. Minster Self-Drive need to realise that having someone like Tracey on the front desk is losing them customers, giving them a bad reputation and is ultimately damaging their name. Avoid like the Plague!

just the other day had problems with my own car. googled car hire firms and this company came up the staff are so Friendly even made a comment about wife dealing with car hire.Great service the car is fab see you Monday Thanks to the team

Minster Self Drive was a huge and very good company. I would recommend and re-recommend strongly. Customer service was also too notch, thanks to Chloe. I can wait to make my next hire of a good van!
