I put a positive review for this surgery but after todays experience of a receptionist hanging up on me mid conversation after saying I would go to a walk in centre for my son who’s only 1 with a chest infection and suddenly telling me to register with a different surgery. After being understandably concerned . I take back my previous review . Rude receptionist .
Let’s start with the trying to make an appointment! 21/7/25 I phoned up to make an appointment, was told there was none left and to ring the next day at 8am (which when you work is near on impossible) anyway tried again but at 10am all appointments gone! (What a surprise) again asked why I needed to see a Dr Explained it was personal and if they wasn’t medically trained I wasn’t prepared to discuss it. Anyway got told I just have to keep phoning each day, in the end I put the phone down with the very rude receptionist, she must have felt guilty as within 10 mins they phoned me back to say they had managed to fit me in on the 4/8/25 with the nurse. I went to see her Monday only to be told she couldn’t prescribe me the medication I needed and the dr was on sick ( a stand in dr as Dr Barnsley as per wasn’t there … he never is ) so now we are on the 6/8/25 I’ve phoned up to see if the script as been done, to yet be told he’s not done anything with it. So going on into its third week and I’m no where nearer getting my issues sorted out. Anyone wanting to join this practice I would avoid it! I’ve been here all my life im 53 year old, and when old dr Maclean and then is son ran the practice it was lovely now it’s not worth pissing on if there’s a fire.
Every time you ring up you have to give your life story to a receptionist which personally is nothing to do with them most of them are very rude and not understanding at all. No face to face appointments with doctor Barnsley been having on going trouble for weeks which has resulted in me going to A n E today due to the pain I am in got a proper diagnosis from a doctor and told me to log a official complaint to practice manger. Can not understand how anyone can diagnose you over telephone when they can not see the problem then you read your notes from doctor and it is nothing you actually said
Don't know what Barnsley is thinking, aren't doctors supposed to take the oath, he seems to have forgotten that, all he seems interested in is his other business ventures or golf, it's about time he figured out nobody cares for him or he should just quit, you should be ashamed of what you think you do, you are a disgrace to your profession.
Basically I explained the issue then got asked why I needed to see the doctor? I don't understand why I need to tell them my whole life story? In the end I got told I may or maynot get an appointment, I may or maynot have to call in, it may or maynot be morning or afternoon and I may or maynot need to go to Trinity medical centre instead...I explained that between work and my child going to school how could I possibly prepare for that? Why can't I just book and appointment? Apparently it needs to go through a paramedic first???? Then I may or maynot get on the doctors list...... It's just ridiculous 🙄....I'm taking my child elsewhere there clearly not interested...
