Harpin's Funeral Service

It’s been months since my dad’s funeral, and I’ve only just been able to sit down and write this review — but I knew I needed to. Losing my dad was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. My whole family was heartbroken, but we knew we had to do what we could to give my dad the best send-off possible. We knew straight away that we wanted to go with Harpins, especially because one of their homes is in Outwood, a place that held so much meaning for my dad. He grew up there, had so many wonderful memories, and it felt so right to have everything connected to that special place. From the very beginning, Georgina was absolutely incredible. Wow — where do I even start? Thank you so much for all of your support, kindness, and care. You truly are amazing. Your calm and compassionate presence made such a difference to us all, and your professionalism and attention to detail were impeccable. Harpins, from start to finish, you were outstanding. You made an unbearably painful time just that little bit easier, and we will always be so grateful for that. A special thank you also to Rev. Jacob and the team at Parkside Methodist Church. The service was so personal and heartfelt — it couldn’t have been more perfect. Your kind words throughout made such a difference and truly honoured my dad’s memory. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us give my dad the beautiful, dignified farewell he so deserved. You gave us peace and comfort during the hardest time of our lives, and we will never forget that.

Everyone we had contact with was very helpful and professional from Georgina who took the initial call, Sean who we met with to discuss arrangements and who was there on the day of the funeral and Polly the celebrant who led the service at the crematorium. All arrangements went as planned and whole process was made as straightforward as we could have hoped for.

I’d dreaded arranging a funeral for as long as I can remember. Harpin’s and particularly Georgina and Sara instantly made everything easier. They didn’t miss a detail and we felt cared for, supported and looked after from our first phone call until our last visit with them. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Sadly,I had to attend 2 funerals,within 2 days this week,and I have to say I was very impressed with the service,how the funeral directors looked after the family,and did their very best to make the whole service as much at ease as possible. The escort car at the back to make sure the cars all were together from the homes to the crematorium, walking in front of the car,and the director bowing before getting into the car,I could tell that a lot of work goes into making sure the day goes as well as could be expected, Thankyou to harpins,and both the directors of the day.
