awful vets and if you love your pet do not take them here. Took my pet in to seek help as he was vomiting blood & severely dehydrated & they gave him nothing, no fluids or pain killers. They tried to take his bloods but somehow messed up twice on them causing the pet hospital to not know his blood type & took them too long considering if they should send him to the next vet or not. They then admitted this was all their fault in email and the person who worked with my dog was a locum and didn’t work directly for them. They admitted if they tried acting sooner it could have changed the outcome on my dog who sadly didn’t make it. terrible service. Not to mention the vet bills i still had to pay!!

I’d like to share my honest experience with Vets4Pets Wakefield Westgate, where I was a client until I ultimately made the decision to leave. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them—especially to anyone with rescue dogs or pets who require patient, compassionate handling. At nearly every visit, I was advised to sedate my dogs for even the most basic procedures, including vaccinations and minimal check-ups. As a responsible pet owner, I found this extremely concerning. Sedation carries risks, and it should be a last resort—not the first suggestion for standard care. Their refusal to consider alternative handling methods felt both careless and dismissive of my dogs' individual needs, particularly as rescues who simply required more patience. On top of that, I constantly felt pressured to pay for unnecessary treatments and add-ons, which made it very clear that profit came before care. It’s disheartening when a vet clinic feels more like a sales floor than a place of trust and healing. Thankfully, I’ve since moved to Harrison Family Vets in Leeds, and the contrast has been night and day. My rescue dog is now treated with genuine respect and understanding. The team at Harrison’s takes the time to earn trust, offers clear communication, and recommends treatments based on the pet’s best interest—not on what brings in the most revenue. Every pet deserves a vet who treats them as a living being, not just another appointment or transaction. I strongly advise others to consider practices like Harrison’s, where compassion comes first!

Disgusting, i have been at this vets for 13 years with my dog who has been diabetic for over 2yrs, after challenging prices via x2 compliants they have now written to me to strike me off their books and find an alternative vet!! This vets is cost hungry, no consideration for the pets and will do anything to get you in for a £52 appointment to weigh your dog and listen to its heart and tell you to do the same in 3 months. SHAME ON YOU WESTGATE branch Hello Beehive Rothwell, had a excellent first visit with my partner and then a detailed telephone call back for 20 mins to run me through their views.

I wouldn't recommend this vets anymore. I took my 2 bunnies for their annual health check. The vet I saw wasn't one I'd seen before. ( I was present throughout the "health check") She didn't give my bunnies the full health check I had paid for. She listened to their hearts and weighed them. She had told me my girl had lost weight and to keep an eye on what she eats. A month and a half later my girl had to be put to sleep as she had a tumour and the cancer had spread all over her body. I know cancer can be aggressive and grow fast and might not have been detected at the health check, but I will never know if she could have been saved, as she hadn't received the care I had paid for. I have complained and received a letter back and the vet has lied to the person looking into my complaint, saying she had done all the health checks. She actually gave what she supposed to have done in detail. She indicated that I have lied about what happened at the health check It is good to know that she does know what she should have done. So, why did she not give my bunnies the care they deserve and the care she knows she should have given them. I have lost my gorgeous girl and will never know if she could have been saved. I registered my bunnies 7 years ago at this vets as they were listed as a bunny savy vet with Rabbit Welfare. I have since found out that they are no longer registered. Why was I not told??!

I would highly recommend this vets. I've been taking my cats here for years and have received an excellent service from reception to the medical team. They are all thorough with their knowledge and examinations and are so friendly. They also give me the option of my cats having a tasty treat if they are admitted, which my cats obviously love!
