Cracking fella that runs the place, and he's got a sense of humour too. He's on social media for his shop, and I did a little clip for him on Saturday when I went in and got out of the pouring rain for refreshing drink. Get yourselves to Wakey Wines, get a drink of something soft, still, alcoholic or even some sweets. I might pop back in if I'm passing through again. Thank you 😊 👍
Nice shop on Wakefield town centre. Alot of hype regarding it's social media posts. Owner was very nice and welcoming. Irrespective of whats happened online or said online; owner is genuinely kind hearted person trying to make his living. Best of luck.
Illegal extra charge on card transactions since forever in that shop. Avoid
Went to wakey wines with A five pound note left with 2 30p cans of juices , a Freddo , a gaping crack and my five pound note 😁
Deeply unimpressed with Wakey Wines. The owner's demeanour was unnecessarily confrontational and rude, creating a very uncomfortable environment. It felt like the shop relies more on its online 'fame' than on good business practices, reflected in what I perceived as significant overcharging across the board. This was far from a positive retail experience. I definitely won't be returning and suggest others look elsewhere. Especially if you like your shop keepers on the correct side of the law. He sells a can of Tutti fruity Fanta, £20 a can. When buying directly from Coca-Cola, it works out at - £1.10 a can. At a wholesaler, it works out at even less. Where is the justice in this?
