It says something about a practice when you're put off before you can even register. I was willing to register at this practice because of the location, even despite how outdated and run down it seemed, but was immediately discouraged when I met the reception staff. In all fairness, one lady I spoke to was perfectly helpful, but when I tried to hand in my registration forms, the second older woman was completely rude. It makes me beg the question why someone would take a role in a customer facing job when they have no compassion or social skills. You’d think that they would treat people with a little more understanding considering their position. I was treated as if I had ruined her entire life by entering the front door. Apparently, the practice was in training, and I should have known this even though there were no signs informing me so, and the door was open for people to walk in. I recommend you try a different practice if you’re looking. Unless you like being huffed at, and having people roll their eyes at you for even dreaming of wanting the help of the people who are supposed to be there to help you. I suppose I should be grateful that I was able to see what the experience would be like before I registered.
Would just like to say what a lovely conversation I had today with one of the doctors. Didn't catch her name ( Joe it could have been) very helpful and lovely and very understanding. Perhaps the receptionist ought to take a leaf out of her book. Very abruppt.
Only GP I’ve known that removes its patients from its surgery because they have moved home to 10 minutes away, always incredibly reluctant to prescribe medication, they would much rather you simply deal with your medical issues yourself
Reception staff are extremely rude. They forget to issue repeat prescriptions. They speak to people like they are worth nothing
If I could give this surgery zero stars then I would. Two of the GP's at Magna group practice missed a severe and life altering injury. I was days from becoming paralyzed from the neck down. Luckily it was caught in time and I was able to have emergency spinal surgery at Northern General. Now I'm left with using a wheelchair, had to give up work, having to move home to use a wet room. If the GP's had caught it when I was telling them, I would have had a much better chance of recovery and wouldn't have been left with the aftermath of it not being caught early enough. Currently going through an official complaint and looking into negligence claim. Please be very cautious and make sure to self advocate where needed!
